About Pennyroyal
Located in the historic Singer Building in the heart of Mount Rainier, Pennyroyal Station is serving comfort food re-imagined by Chef Jesse Miller.
Erin Edwards, co-owner of Pennyroyal Station, was looking for a house in the Mount Rainier, Maryland neighborhood when she was shown a space in a historic building, originally the home of First National Bank in the early 1900s. A light went off that she could bring a new restaurant to serve as a cornerstone of the community she now calls home. Edwards teamed up with Chef Jesse Miller, whom she worked with at Bar Pilar, a neighborhood bar and restaurant that pioneered DC’s 14th Street, and industry vet Garrick Lumsden to bring Pennyroyal to life.
Together, the team transformed the 1700 square foot space inside the Singer Building into what they envisioned as a gathering place for the Mount Rainier community. Inside the natural-light filled restaurant outfitted with marble, tile and personal touches from the team, Chef Jesse Miller is serving his creative take on comfort food for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Pennyroyal is your neighborhood spot for everything from weekday and leisurely meals to special occasions, but always with a come-as-you-are, welcoming atmosphere.
